This is especially true for shoes with a specific design, and the iconic Vans shoes are no exception.

Vans shoes don’t usually have laces and slide over your feet almost like slippers. It’s worth keeping this in mind as we begin this pattern.

Created as skateboard shoes, they have given rise to many different styles and products.

Even with so many different types, learning to design Vans shoes can be a fun way to envision your designs! This is the guide you need to do just that.

How to Draw Vans Shoes

Step 1

To get started with this Vans shoe drawing guide, let’s start with the outline of the first shoe.

Vans shoes don’t usually have laces and slide over your feet almost like slippers. It’s worth keeping this in mind as we begin this pattern.

First, draw a few lines inside the perimeter of the outline for the upper and front of the shoe that you drew earlier.

The front part of the show, which would enclose the front and top of the food, will be drawn with some rounded lines, and there will be a protruding edge across the top of the foot.

Do your best to follow the reference image as closely as possible, as finding the right shoe proportions can get tricky!

Finally, draw the back of the shoe and the hole your foot would fit into.

Step 2

Another common feature of these shoes is that they have fairly thick bottoms. This is the section we will add to your Vans shoe design now.

First, draw a few lines inside the perimeter of the outline for the upper and front of the shoe that you drew earlier.

Next, use some more rounded lines for the shoe hole. As seen in the reference image, the shape of this second shoe will be slightly different as it is not at the same angle as the first.

Then you can draw the base yourself. To do this, draw a rounded line from the front of the shoe down around the base until you reach the back of the shoe.

Once you’re happy with how it looks like our reference image, you’re ready for step 3!

Step 3

You’ve finished the shape of the first shoe, but before we decorate it, we need to draw the other one first in this step of our how-to-draw Vans shoe guide.

You will repeat what you did in step one, drawing the top and front of the shoe with some curved lines.

Next, use some more rounded lines for the shoe hole. As seen in the reference image, the shape of this second shoe will be slightly different as it is not at the same angle as the first.

Step 4

In this step of designing your Vans shoes, you repeat what you did in a previous step for the second shoe. In particular, we draw the thick base for the second shoe.

Because this shoe is behind the first, we don’t see the back of the base like the first.

With that, we can move on to the final details in the next step!

Step 5

When it comes to this brand of shoes, they can come in many different designs and styles.

In this fifth step of our guide to drawing Vans shoes, we will draw a grid pattern on the shoes, almost tartan.

Draw Vans Shoes

Drawing this pattern can be more complicated than you might think, as you are drawing straight lines that still need to follow the curve of the shoe.

When drawing a pattern on such a surface, you should take it slowly while decorating your shoes with this grid.

As mentioned, these shoes come in many styles so you can choose a different model style for the shoes! There may be a different pattern or none at all.

You can also draw a background for this image to personalize it further. This is your chance to bring out your inner shoe designer, so have fun creating!

Step 6

This is the last step in designing your Vans shoes; in this one, you can complete it with great colors.

In our reference image, we used a red and beige color scheme for the grid pattern on the shoes. Then we used a light brown for the edges of the shoes and shades of grey for the bottom and inside.

These colors are a suggestion that you could use, but feel free to use any colors you like!

This is your shoe design, so be sure to use any color that would make the shoe perfect for you.

So you can also experiment with different art mediums and tools to get the colors you want, so have fun completing this cool drawing!
